Search Queries
A query entered in a search tool passes to the outside provider operating that tool. Pitt County Criminal History does not keep or record those names and locations on its own systems. The provider processes the query under its policy.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email may be retained long enough to respond and administer the communication. It remains within the organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.

No Criminal-Record Data on File
Pitt County Criminal History does not maintain, combine, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes directions to records held by the Pitt County Sheriff, the Clerk of Superior Court, the North Carolina SBI, and the North Carolina Sex Offender Registry. North Carolina Public Records Law, Chapter 132, controls access at public custodians; SBI dissemination is governed by G.S. 143B-905. Those laws do not turn this private site into a government repository or consumer reporting agency.

Outside companies power the search boxes. Data entered there is covered by that company's privacy policy, retention choices, and sharing terms. Review those terms before submitting a query because this policy does not control the provider.

Links may lead to a sheriff, court, state agency, legal resource, or outside search provider. Once a visitor leaves this domain, the destination's privacy rules apply. Advertising partners may also use their own systems to measure activity across websites.
